Hearing him say that, I realised that I am able to touch the people around me and actually make some difference. I am grateful for this gift within me that helps bring inspiration and healing to others and I pray for the strength to help me do so.

This reminds me that I should use this gift for myself too, so this weekend is for gratitude, a whole weekend for room to count my blessings. I will appreciate everything that comes my way today. Be it joy, be it sadness, they are all blessings, it's all beauty of this journey called "Life". This is an important daily ritual for me for I strongly believe that when you count your blessings, it gives you peace and awakens your heart.
Counting your blessings is being thankful. Not only for the good things but it's especially being thankful for the challenges that come your way... for when you practice this often enough, the challenges that you are facing will transform into something positive, something good. This helps your mind to put things into a different perspective... embrace each challenge, and you'll start to see the lessons you can learn from it, and you will be able to move on. This is also a part of what I call "Letting go" and you are actually allowing yourself to heal.
It takes time and effort to be able to count your blessings everyday. It's especially hard during times of troubles to be able to find joy in all things. It needs practice... lots of practice. But the peace and healing that you receive is so rewarding, it's really worth the energy that you put into it.
