Familiar little fella


A summer migrant to Europe, wintering in the tropics as far as India (local name: Peelak). Most often solitary, the Eurasian Golden Oriole sometimes sits in small groups at a food patch. Usually silent, however sings a distinctive pleasant flute-like ‘weelawoo’ or ‘who-are-you’, unmistakable once heard.
